PIC Architecture Interns Join BPDA Planning Tour

This summer, several PIC architecture interns joined the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) for a walking and planning tour of Sullivan Square, the Mystic River waterfront, and Charlestown.

The tour, led by BPDA staff members Kathleen Onufer, Assistant Deputy Director of Downtown and Neighborhood Planning, Patricia Cafferky, AIA, Urban Designer, and Mikaela Stretch, was an opportunity for our interns to:

  • Learn about the BPDA’s role, particularly in the Charlestown area
  • Discuss the planning of transportation, resiliency, housing affordability, and public spaces and how these relate to their experiences at home and in Charlestown
  • Design their improvements to a future development plan

Thank you to our partners at the BPDA for providing our young architects with a hands-on learning experience that could help shape the city’s future workforce and our community.
