2021 Mayor’s Summer Jobs Campaign Kickoff

During the 2021 Mayor’s Summer Jobs Campaign Kickoff, PIC Chair Ken Montgomery welcomed Mayor Kim Janey and Superintendent Brenda Cassellius, both of whom emphasized the importance of summer jobs and internships for our city’s high school students and their families.

Lorie Spencer of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Annie Duong-Turner of John Hancock, and William Brown of the American Banknote Corporation participated in a panel discussion that highlighted their companies’ high school internship programs.

The keynote speaker was Chiruza Muhimuzi, a Vertex intern and Boston International Newcomers Academy senior. Chiruza shared powerful highlights about both his personal journey, as well as the impact his internships have had on his educational and professional career. Thank you to all of the speakers!

We thank all of our Summer 2021 hiring partners for their commitment to the PIC and Boston Public Schools students.
